It’s just blood and bits of uterine lining. It’s not violence or a very sad suicide. It’s just a part of many people’s lives. Get the fuck over it.
I’m putting this on my blog, cause it is my blog. If you don’t like it, scram.

God, why was the internet freaking out about this? From what people had been saying I thought there was going to be a slaughtering of animals in those underpants.

I think a lot of people were just surprised to find out periods don’t look like what they see on pad commercials. Where’s the blue liquid????
Seriously though some men’s horror of menses is pathological.

I knew there was going to be shit about this as soon as I saw it. Good on them for actually showing it, it helps you understand Sally’s reaction in a way you wouldn’t if they hadn’t.

“Magazines, as mentioned above, play a hugely important role in the development and sustaining of girls’ and women’s self-images. They’re also hugely prevalent pieces of our culture, with Vogue and Seventeen leading the way because of their sheer popularity and branding power. Vogue took good steps last week, although we will have to wait to see how the results appear to us. (As a subscriber I am constantly disappointed in their lack of true diversity in race, ethnicity, and body size, as well as their use of “tribal” themes - some of which may be allieviated by these guidelines.) As for Seventeen, well, it is a truly pathetic moment for a culture and a business when 25,000 real and authentic audience voices are overpowered by an outdated and cruel industry standard of beauty.” — Seventeen and Vogue Magazine Have Issues, Like Body Image Issues | Autostraddle (via sparkamovement)

Please help me

I’ve been freaking the fuck out all day today because when I went to get my teeth cleaned, I found out I have cavities that need to be filled. Aside from it being horribly expensive, they told me they are going to gas me and give me Novocaine.

I have never had any of that before. I know that’s probably weird, but I’m 23, almost 24 and these are my first cavities. I’m scared about the idea of the gas most of all. I’ve never done anything like it before, recreationally or otherwise.

What does it feel like? How long does it last? Can I drive myself home after?

if your feminism does not actively advocate for and with women of color, your feminism is shit

if your feminism does not actively advocate for and with trans* women, your feminism is shit

if your feminism does not actively advocate for and with disabled women, your feminism is shit

if your feminism does not actively advocate for and with financially disadvantaged women, your feminism is shit

no exceptions

no questions asked

there will be no revolution for women if you willingly ignore and scorn your sisters in favor of a “feminism” that is more palatable to your privilege

LOL, “Appalling!” Yes, one might choose to be appalled that you’ll believe anything, if one chose.
Me and Jess were talking today about how anti-choice activism is, like, the laziest fucking thing in the universe. You get to feel self-righteous, you don’t really have to do much besides go out in public and be self-righteous, anti-choice “Councils” do all of your thinking for you, and even if you fail you get a big gold star for effort.
Feeding the hungry? Getting poor people to the polls, cleaning up neighborhoods, healing actual societal ills? That takes some form of work and effort. But being anti-choice combines laziness and self-righteousness, which is just so damn tempting for a particular breed of ignorant mouth breather.
